3 more challenges!

Happy Friday and Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Always remember the heros that paid their life for us to be in the country we are doing what we're doing. It's because of them that I can sit here on my laptop and write on my blog. And it's because of them that you get to sit there and read it. Never take little things like that for granted!

For this card I used The Sweet Stop sketch #159. It was a sketch with a spin.. the spin was to use ruffles.

I found this cute stamp set by Sandylion called Boy Clear Stamps at the 99 cent store of all places! I also got the girl set that I'll be using soon!

I used Copper Stickles on his spots and Glossy Accents on his nose, the ball and his ears.

For this card I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #159.

I also used ColourQ #138.. here's the palette.

I think this is my favorite stitch, lol.

I used Fiskar Stamps and a cute little cupcake from American Crafts Remarks, sweet tooth.

Clean & Simple #190 & 191

I made this card using the sketch from Clean & Simple #190. For this fun sketch, I used Echo Park & Basic Grey.

The first card I made with this sketch got ruined.. like ruined to where there was no return. I had cut a window and embossed on vellum.. when I went to use the sewing machine, it messed up big time. Oh well!

This ice cream cone is a Basic Grey Woolie from the Lemonade Collection.

For this card I used Clean & Simple's sketch #191.

I created my own background with a Glitz stamp from the pack called Distressing. The G thanks comes from a Studio G chipboard pack that I found for .25 in the clearance rack in Wal-Mart!

I went with the wonderful color combination of orange and blue.. one of my favorites!

I added some Blue Berry Trendy Twine at the bottom of the G for a little texture.

Happy Dad's Day!

I usually don't post the Photo Inspiration for the Card Challenge on here, do I? Maybe I'll have to start doing that!! Every month for the card challenge on Scrapbook.com, we have a category called "Photo Inspiration". It's where I post a picture that I took while I was out and about and you make a card from however the photo inspires you.. it can be color, texture, theme, technique, anything!

I found this chair at Anthropology.. one of my favorite stores to roam around in!! Can you guess how much it costs? This lovely chair could be yours for the low low price of $598!! wowzers.

My boyfriend said "I'll buy it for you for Christmas and for next years Birthday and next years Christmas and the Birthday after that!" lol. I said "Ah, that's okay, a picture is a lot cheaper!!"

On to the card!!

eek! I looovveee this card, like you wouldn't believe! One, because it came out like it looked in my head and two, because I didn't use a sketch for it.

I don't make male cards very well, so the fact that this is a male card AND I love it is a big thing!

I used stretchy denim that I bought a while ago and tried to make it into a chevron pattern.. this was my 2nd attempt.. the first did not turn out so well!! I splattered paint on the card and on the denim.

I used some burlap and some screen.. you read it right, screen! I added a couple fun stitches on top of them.

I used October Afternoon's Mini Market Stickers in Teal & Black for the sentiment and stitched that on as well.

May Card Challenge - Lift & some 50% off goodies!!

A couple of months ago, I went into Aaron Brother's to get a frame and I noticed they had a bunch of Ranger products. I didn't need anything, so surprisingly, I didn't buy anything!!

On Friday I went in purposely going to get some Faded Denim Distress Ink. They didn't have any though! Infact all the Distress Ink was gone! I asked and he showed me where the 50% table was. So glad I asked! They didn't have Faded Denim but they did have Broken China. Broken China is just a bit brighter.. works for me!!

I also got some Ranger Sparkle Embossing Powder, Distress Crackle Paint, some Copper Stickles, some super cute number banners from Jenni Bowlin. I also got something I've wanted for a while... Tim Holtz's Tiny Attacher!! I had only picked up 2 of the 3 extra staples that were there and the guy who was checking me out said "you should get all that we have!" I told him "You sound like my Mom" lol. So I went back and got the other... he's right though, I'll probably never find them that cheap! They each have 1550 staples, so I'm set for a while!!

I made this card for the May Card Challenge for Lift. We lifted Placktorin's "Happy Birthday" Card on scrapbook.com.

I added some Strawberry Cupcake Trendy Twine.

Here we go!

I made this card on 7.26.2009.. the yellow heart paper wasn't a part of it!

Here's my card for this week, lots of bright colors!

A couple more Mother's Day cards!

Did you think you saw the last of my Mother's Day cards? If you did, you're wrong! I have more to share with you! I even have one to share at the end of June... crazy, I know!

I made this Mom's Day card for my Grandma. I got the inspiration from the amazing Kristina Werner. I lifted her "Always a friend" card.

I went a little overboard with cutting hearts out though... I was only cutting from scrap pieces and some how ended up with 331! lol.. I just couldn't stop!

I stitched around the border to make a stitched frame.

I lifted all the hearts with foam pop dots.

I made a little banner for the sentiment.

This is the card I made for my Sis for Mother's Day. Since I cut 331 hearts out {haha!}, I saved most of the negatives as well. I splattered some light blue paint on my card then used some more scrap paper and washi tape. I finished it up with a lot of different types of stitching.

you are the SUNSHINE of my life

I made this criss-cut card for Scrapbook News & Review which it was published in, in March.

I used a Ranger embossing pen to draw around the outside of the sun and embossed it with Tea Dye Distress embossing powder. I embossed the heart as well, but kind of blotched it with versa mark so it wasn't fully covered. I attached the heart with a staple.

This is the insert that goes inside. I faux stitched around the outsides and added a label that I cut in 1/2 to it.
