It's almost the weekend... woohoo! I lifted Add1cted's "Ready or Not!" on Scrapbook.com. This photo was taken at California Adventure in November, with Buzz Lightyear of course!

I also couldn't resist making a Mickey Mouse out of chipboard and buttons!

I'd like to think that anyone would use this cheesy title! I couldn't resist! I ran out of "L's" so I used an "I" instead.

I used foam Thickers called "Delight" for part of the title.

Who's ready for Valentine's Day? Yeah, me either! But I do have a Valentine's Card finished before February 13th, so I'm happy!

I purchased this cute new Bo Bunny Paper called Crush Romeo last week. Our closest Scrapbook store is about a 1/2 an hour away.. it is however close to my Grandma's and my niece's doctors. So if we're out that way, I have to stop by! It's usually just to pick up 3 packages of foam pop dots too. But I'll search the clearance and if there's any really cute paper in the new section I'll pay an arm and a leg for it. =]

Sometimes I can't believe how expensive some Scrapbook Stores are! There's one in Rancho Cucamunga, I won't name names, but their prices are ridiculous! Although their store is beautiful and they have a ton of new items all the time, they charge way too much. I think I've been there twice and only bought ribbon by the yard each time. Too rich for my blood!

So for this card I used a sketch from Clean & Simple from 2009!!

This card is for the February Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com for Product which is to use paint. I used paint by doing the Acrylic Smash Technique.

I got this cute little crocheted flower from Hobby Lobby. I thought they were all back east, but it turns out there in Southern California now too! I went for the first time about a month and I must say, as neat of a store as it was, it was nothing like I was expecting. I think I've heard different people talk about it for so long that I had a picture in my head what it was and it was nothing like the picture in my head! Still thought it was a cool store though!

I thought I'd use this cute little Wedding cake stamp from KI Memories. I recently got that dark blue paper, which is, Pink Paislee's Daily Junque - Tabs. Don't you love it that paper?! Me too!

For the Mr. & Mrs. I used American Crafts "Rue" for the sentiment.

I used Pebble's Shimmer chalks on the cake. I used a pearl white and a very light pink for the card. I then hand-stitched around the edges of the cardstock.

I made this card for the February Card Challenge for Theme, which is Luck/St. Patrick's Day and for Color, which were Apple Tones.. which you can see here, from Design Seeds.

For this card I got inspiration from Amber Daigre's "Birthday Bro Card" on page 45 of the January/February issue of Paper Crafts.

I used Cosmo Cricket tiny type stickers and American Crafts Forest Chipboard Thickers.

Even though I host the Card Challenge every month on Scrapbook.com, I don't think I've ever completed all the cards for the month! Sad, isn't it? I know it is, so this year I hope it changes! I only have one more to go and hopefully I can pull it off on Monday night before the challenges ends!

Of course I did them all within 4 days of each other, not all during the month since I ran out of time! So I'm going to share all of them with you right now. Get ready... there's a bunch!

These were all made for the girl who does my hair, Andrea. She gives cards to her husband and sends them to work and such! I trade her for a hair cut and since I needed my hair cut, I needed to get a move on! lol.

I used Clean & Simple Sketch #174 for this card.

I used Sassafras Lass' "Indie Girl", Stampin' Up's "Comfort Food" Stamp and some Timber Brown Stazon Ink.

This card was also made for the Card Challenge for Theme - Valentine's Day.

This is the sketch I made for the January Card Challenge. February won't take as long to post, promise! As always, feel free to use this for your own personal use!

Chalkboard Technique!

I wanted to try the Chalkboard Technique that I found on Splitcoaststampers. I liked it so much that I made two cards with it and will defiantly be using the technique again! I used Pebbles Inc. Chalk on the image, but I used Pearlescent Chalks. Even though I love the look of it, I think it may be better with regular chalk because you can see a little shimmer all over the black cardstock.

This card is also for the February Card Challenge for Technique.

For this card I used sketch 142 at The Sweet Stop. This week was a sketch with a spin.. to create a non-traditional Valentine's Day. I turned the sketch on it's side because it worked better with my image. What do you think?

I used the Pearlescent Chalks on this card also.

Our 1st Anniversary!

A year ago on the 8th of January, I met the love of my life. Did I know it was love from the beginning? For sure. In April of last year I wrote Joey, 3 months after meeting him, a loonnng letter telling him how excited I was for our future and how there was no doubt in my mind we'd be together until forever. I gave it to him on the 8th of this year.. Still excited by the way, lol.

This photo is from our first date at The Kitchen in Pasadena. We look so young... it's crazy.

This is from my family's annual Christmas Party... even got a smile out of him, that doesn't happen in photos too often!!

He is sweet enough to save all the cards I make him in a shoe box in his closet. Hey, as long as they're not thrown away!! I made him a gift one time, maybe you remember it... it was made out of a deck of cards and it was 52 songs that made me think about us.. Well, there was no way I was going to let that sit in a shoe box, so I took it back, lol. It's now displayed in my room!

So anyway! I used the Sketch for Submission on Scrapbook News and Review for this month, this is my entry. I always call Joey, Joesteph, so I thought that was fitting!

Boy cards are hard enough for me, but a boy card AND an Anniversary card all in one.. watch out.

Here are some of Christmas Thank You Cards! I am a big believer in sending thank you cards for Christmas!! It is a lift from Abby's (Oceans972 on Scrapbook.com) "Celebrate" Card. Her card is the card picked to be lifted for The January Card Challenge.

This card is also for the January Card Challenge for Color. I used Basic Grey & Echo Park on this one... I think they go together really well!

For these two cards I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #150.. I just love her sketches!

I had this plan in my head that at the beginning of the year I'd have a plan to make blogs posts at least twice a week.. with sketches and videos too. How much of that have I done? Zip!

It seems that 2012 has decided to go even faster than 2011! But, in my defense, I haven't been home much since the New Year!

On New Years Eve, the boyfriend and I and our friend Paulina went to Disneyland to ring in the New Year. Who's insane idea was that?! Oh, that's right, mine. It was so incredibly packed, which we knew it would be, but I've never seen anything like it there! Look at that!!

I took my niece a week later...

Day and night! After they end Christmas at Disneyland is the best time to go! I can't even tell you the difference... LOVE the beginning of January at Disneyland!!

I got the greatest idea a couple days ago that I would like to share with you! I've made a couple comic book wallets and thought... why not use a Disneyland map? So, I did!

One of my boyfriend's gifts was a gift card to get a straight edge ravor shave. The place where I got it, ran out of gift cards, so they wrote it on the back of their business card, so I thought I have to make the package pretty at least!

Here's what I came up with... I drew the picture, then pierced it with a pin and sewed it by hand.

Where did December go? It's funny how it just sneaks by, isn't it? Like everyone, I had a bazillion things to do before Sunday and on Tuesday night I got some stomach bug! I was nauseous for 2 days and I won't go into the details but I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy! Ok, maybe my worst.. =]

So anyway! All our presents are wrapped, which is just unheard of on the 23rd! Dad is baking cookies, so it smells wonderful in here!!

I made most of my gifts for Christmas but of course wrapped them before I took a picture! I made my own tags though, so I'll share those!

This was while I was making them.. I needed something a little heavy to sit on top until the scarf so it would stick together! So I grabbed anything around me that would work!

I had a whole list of submission I wanted to make for Scrapbook News & Review this month, but I only got 2 done and 1 of the pictures is blurry! The due date is tomorrow, so maybe next month! I will be submitting this layout for their monthly sketch.

Reindeer food!

I was cleaning out where I keep my medicine and I had a lot of empty bottles. I took the labels off and thought I have to come up with something to use these for... I can't just throw them away! So, I thought it would be a cute idea to make some Reindeer food for my niece to sprinkle outside on Christmas Eve so Santa's reindeer will have lots of energy to help Santa deliver presents all around the world!

Here's the cutie pie with the finished product!

I went through the cupboard and made up a reindeer food recipe! I used Quaker Oats, Raisin and tiny marshmallows (like the ones that come in hot chocolate packets). I added glitter also. So my niece wouldn't want to taste it, I told her that the glitter gives Santa's reindeer lots of energy but it doesn't do the same for people. =]

I used craft tape so go around the whole bottle. When I put the paper on it, I left about a 1/2 inch or so over the bottom edge and about 3/4 inch above the lid.

For the bottom, I used the craft tape and folded it under. Then I used a small punch to punch a scallop circle for the middle.

I tied 3 strands of twine around the top and tied it through a button. I cut the top of the paper so it could open a bit and then I inked the paper with Peeled Paint & Vintage Photo Distress Inks.

I then CAREFULLY scoped the Reineer food back into the medicine bottle... make sure to be really careful if you use glitter so it doesn't get all over the place!

I used some letter stickers to label my bottle and that's how you make reindeer food!

Is everyone ready for Christmas? Yeah, me either!! So much to do... so little time to do it! If you're like me, you're making most of your gifts and it doesn't seem like there's enough time to finish any of them, never mind all of them! But... chances are they'll all get finished, even if it's at 3:28 am on Christmas morning!

Someone let my niece turn 4.... ohhh when I find out who it was......

4! Wasn't she just born? It sure seems like it. This little one is the sweetest, most goofy kid I've ever met, and I'd say that even if I wasn't her Auntie!! Not every mid 20 year old would like spending everyday with a child that isn't your own, but I do. I love her to pieces! Can't get enough of her!!

HAPPY 4th BIRTHDAY KLAYRE A BELLIE!

The photo on the left was taken when she was 15 days old, on November 25th, 2007. The one on the right was taken on November 1st, 2011. On the one in 2007, can you see the heart on my forehead?? I have no idea why it's there, lol.

Have you heard of damnyouautocorrect.com? If not, you should definitely go check it out. I had to look for a while to find a clean one though.... but they are all really funny!

This is the card I entered in Paper Crafts "World Card Making Day" Contest. I entered it for Birthday. I didn't win though, ohhhh well! I still love how this card came out. I thought of it when I was making my Thank You kindle card for Joey. He has an iPhone (and infact has talked me into getting one annnd buying it for me! Luckiest girl I know, that's for sure!) so I thought I'd make him an iPhone thank you card then got the idea for the kindle but knew I still had to make an iPhone one!

My favorite part about this whole card? The battery! I just love it! The shading is so neat!

I used my sisters name and my boyfriend's birthday for the time. The reception lines are "I's" in different font sizes!

I used glossy accents on the "home" button.

I drew the camera with a while gel pen.

Halloween + a puncture wound!

Here are some Halloween photos!!

I made a Minnie Mouse Pumpkin... she has a bow on her right ear, can you see it? And I was trying to make a mustache on a pumpkin but it turned out more like a mouth!!

Klayre went as a cowgirl. She also had a rope, a holster and cap gun *this was taken at school, so it was left at home!* She will be 4 next week (did I really just say 4?) and that shirt is 9 months! Makes good 3/4 sleeves though!

This is how she wore her cowgirl hat most of the day at school. It was too cute to correct!

Miss Kalleigh went as a Skeleton!

My puncture wound! On Tuesday, UPS came and I was holding my dogs collar when I opened the door. Scruffy doesn't care for strangers coming from outside, especially men. So the UPS guy said it was heavy and he'd bring it in, stupidly, I said alright. Scruf was barking like crazy and trying to get loose. He turned his head to the left, barked and his teeth went right into my right leg. It was a horrible pain. I've had my fair share of really bad pain and this was definitely high on the list. Now, it's all purple and blue and such. At least they're pretty colors, right? =] It was an accident and all, but you could tell he knew he did something wrong... he kept his distance from me for about a day. So anyway, that's that!

Exciting news first!! I went to check out The Sweet Stop's sketch for this week and my "Keep Tuggin' Along" Card was one of three cards spotlighted last week! eek! When I saw it, my eyes just about popped out of my head! I can't get the badge to upload though =/

It's almost Halloween time!! I wanted to share a couple of my Halloween costumes from when I was little. I'm lucky enough to not only have one creative parent, but two! So, if you ever wonder where my creativity comes from, it's them! And my Mom's Dad! He used to take a block of wood and carve something out of it. We have a lot of his wood carvings around our house.

From all this creativeness in one house, we always had homemade Halloween costumes. I honestly can't remember even one Halloween, even as a teenager, that we bought a costume.

This is when I was 3 I believe! McDonald's Fries! The fries are made from foam! See the clip in my hair? It says "BOO!" on it. My niece now wears them in her hair!

Who doesn't like Donuts? My favorite, even to this day are any with sprinkles! This costume was made with an inter tube, felt and neon colored straws for sprinkles! See my shirt and my bow? Homemade as well!

I've seen cards like this before, but I got my inspiration from Splitcoaststampers.com. For the aging on the "gauze", I used Distressed Ink in Tea Dye & Vintage Photo.

I used the Sketch #130 at The Sweet Stop, which came with a twist of using something recycled. I used brown packaging that came in a box last Christmas, yes... I saved it, lol. It's behind the white circle, you can't see much of it though. And Week 55 at The Paper Variety, which was to create a card using an ocean theme.

A couple of weekends ago, Joey & I went garage saling. I found this wooden frame and knew I wanted to alter it. It was already white, so I just added some cute paper to it.

I call the baby "Little Pudge", since she's so pudgy!!

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #138 for this card. I thought I had until Saturday to upload, but the due date was 44 minutes ago... oops!

I had the idea for a card in mind FIRST, then made a sketch. So, I can't see it any other way than a monsters mouth, lol.

To make the teeth look lifted like that, I put adhesive on the top then put a pop dot on the bottom and curled the bottom out a bit.

The missing tooth, hehe.

It's fall..... but you wouldn't know it by our weather! It was 96 today! Yuck! I want cool weather, and I could do without this wind too, but other than all that, it is in fact, fall.

I made these cards using Techno Stamper Lunchtime Sketch #195.

A friend asked if I could make a couple cards for her to give to her husband. The one on the right is for her.

I stamped the pumpkin on the orange printed paper, cut it out and stamped it again on the back paper. I added pop dots to give it some dimension.

I don't think I've ever made a Christmas card before December 15th at the earliest! But I thought I'd try something different this year!

I made this card using Techno Stamper's Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #194. This is my first time participating in a challenge at the Techno Stamper Blog.

I'm sure you're like me, where you have a bunch of challenge blogs bookmarked. I have a little tip to share about how I organize mine. I have them all separated on the day that the Blog posts.. marking the start of a new challenge and the due date as well. It makes it sooo much easier!

I colored in the hat and gloves with ink, water and a tiny paint brush. I went over them with Glossy Accents to make them stand out.

Remember how I said my niece was super goofy? Here's proof! We picked tomatoes, yellow squash and zucchini from our garden in our backyard. We even found a tomato with a nose built in, so we had to draw a face on it!

I swear my niece is the goofiest little girl I've met. EVER. Today a truck drove by and she said "That's a UESPS truck TT"... and it wasn't even a UPS truck, lol.

I made this layout for Scrapbook.com's "Scraplift the Person Before You Challenge". I lifted Ms. Schwiet's "Family".

Journaling: Klayre, you’re such a poser! It all started when you & Mommy were having a dance party and she told you to “Vogue“. It then turned into “striking a pose”. You LOVE to strike a pose! You strike a pose while eating at the dinner table, taking a bath, in the car, at the grocery store.. anywhere! You have so many poses, you change Your arms, your eyes and your mouth to create a different one. But one thing is the same about each pose, they all make us laugh!

I made this flower by cutting out circles of fabric and folding them into 4th. I used Glue Dots to stick them together.

I stamped white flourishes with Color Box's "Frost White".

I made this card for Sweet Sunday Sketch #135.

For the circle/flower, I used my Cricut and my Mini Monograms cartridge. I cut it at 4 in. and it was a little too small to lay where I wanted it. So, what I did was cut both the circle and scalloped circle in 1/2 and adhered them on the back of the "Happy Birthday" paper.

I'm not sure what this ribbon type stuff is called, but I love the look of it!

Last weekend, my boyfriend told me he had a surprise for me tomorrow, but he didn't have it with him.. which made no sense until my dog, Scruffy went crazy cause someone knocked on the door. There was a package.... to me, from Amazon.. I thought what did I order? And when did I order it? lol. Then it all clicked. And it was a kindle!! Holy canoli!

So, for his Thank You card, I recreated a kindle =] My kind is under the card. Infact, when I was getting the stickers out for the "Thank You", both kindles were next to each other and I picked up the real one.

I used Heidi Swapp's "Ghost hearts, covered one in her tape and the other in white puffy paint.

I used my clicky label maker for the title and little scrabble tiles for the rest.

Of course they're not all the same, Some are right in the center, some are higher, lower and all that jazz =]

I lifted this card from the blog "Lime Doodle". I loved the design and needed to make a Birthday card, so it was perfect for that.

Basic Grey's Recess Nanoset Alphabet Stickers.

I was at Wal-Mart yesterday and picked up Sally Hansen's "Crackle" Topcoat. It comes in many different colors. I picked black, cause it could go with any color. It says you should use Sally Hansen for the color under it as well, but I don't think you have to. But, for my first time using it, I did. I really like how it looks... maybe with white underneath next time!

Every time I see canvas, I want to paint on it. The only problem is... I can't paint anything, lol. Same goes for drawing... my cats always look like elephants, my dogs always look like hippos. Couldn't draw to save my life... keep that in mind if we ever play Pictionary together!

Back to the canvas! So, I saw something on Pinterest, with puffy paint and canvas but I went in a totally different direction than I was going to with that. I still used puffy paint, but just for some texture.

I bought 3, 11x14 canvas' at Big Lots for $4 each. They also had 3, 8 1/2 x 11 for $3, but it wasn't stretched around wood, so I didn't know how I'd hang them! They had 12x12 for $6 also.

I absolutely LOVE how they came out!

I painted each canvas in Aquamarine Acrylic Paint by Apple Barrel.

I then painted the edges in Turquoise Acrylic Paint by Folk Art and randomly painted spots on the front of each canvas.

I used a circle punch to punch 12 circles that are, 2 1/2 inches I believe. Then I placed them on the painted canvas and traced around them with a pencil.

I "mapped" out on a piece of paper of what color I wanted where. I knew I wanted brown, white and to use Crackle Accents.

I painted the colors, in Maple Syrup by Folk Art, Bark by Heidi Swapp (the brown glossy circles), a mixture of colors for the crackle circles and Warm White under the puffy paint, which was Tulip Slick, in White.

Next, I sprayed Tattered Angel's Glimmer Mist in Dragonfly.

Lastly, I used Crackle Accents on the "mixed together" circles.

I bought this at a garage sale years ago and never used it.

This is the 1st shelf of my wall unit. That jewelry box holds small eyelets and a bunch of Heidi Swapp ghost products.

This shelf holds all my stacks.

I made labels and attached them to a 12x12 piece of cardstock. Much easier to find than without labels, let me tell ya!

AFTER! This is my $20 estate sale find! I told my Mom, if it wasn't that color, I probably wouldn't even have noticed it. I don't get much light in my room from outside anyway, so I didn't mind putting it infront of my window. And, besides that, there was no other place for it to go!

My scraproom/bedroom isn't done yet, but closer than it was yesterday!

Last Saturday, I went to a couple Garage Sales with my Mom. We also found an Estate Sale along the way. From what I've been told, California Estate Sales aren't "real" ones! lol. My parents go back to Ohio every fall and get to go to "real" ones. They throw NOTHING away back east! So anyway, that's what started my whole re-doing of my room, I bought something!

And, it's a cute something. REALLY cute!

But for now... a card!

On the sketch, it looked like a Tic-Tac-Toe board to me, so that's what I went with!

The "miss you so" is from Technique Tuesday's "Small Talk" Set. I've had it for years and it's one of my most favorite stamp sets. I drew the lines on with a regular black inked pen. The X's & O's are from American Crafts "Rue" Stamp Set... another one of my favs!

A play on words!

Have you ever seen cards that use a play on words? I've always loved those and wished my mind worked like that, to think of some! Well, it turns out, it does. =]

I made this card for call, to use letters & or numbers.

I also made it for The Paper Variety's Week #47, to use any kind of thread on your project. I went with pink and white bakers twine.

I came up with the sentiment "never lettas grow apart", instead of, "never let us grow apart".

I stamped all the letters on the background paper, which was kind of fun itself, trying to figure out which letter would fit where!

My Parents asked me to make a thank you card for a friend. My Dad told me she was Irish and maybe I could put shamrocks on it. I couldn't do that, lol. I found this sketch through Pinterest, that lead me to Quintessentially Me Blog. She has a ton of cute card sketches, check them out!

I came up with "Irish we could thank you enough", instead of, "I wish we could thank you enough."

I don't do boy cards that often, so I thought I'd give it a try!

Ohh this poor tag. My plan was to use a robot font, so, I tried on my printer and I'm out of color ink. So, I went to use my parent's printer but... I guess the tag was just too much for it cause it caused a paper jam... which left some ink smudged on it and it was bent a little.

So... I just crinkled the whole tag up, so no one would even notice!

Water Slide + exciting news!

Happy Saturday to you all!!

I have some super exciting news! I submitted to Scrapbook News and Review and one of my layouts was picked to be in their August 14th issue! I can't tell you how excited I got when I read the e-mail! I slapped my hand on my desk and said "holy..." well, you can guess what came after that!

The layout that was chosen is part of an album I'm making for Joey. It's a 6x6 album and I kept putting it off because I wanted to show all of them at once.

Can't wait until I can show you in.... a month! lol.

On to a layout! I made this layout for Scrapbook.com's "Scarplift the person before you" Challenge. I lifted Meezerpleaser's "Punkins 2007". I turned her layout and made it my own a little bit too!

I used pictures from our Cruise in May. These pictures were taken when we were going down the water slide. We both paobably went down more than any of the kids there. It was a lot of fun and it was Joey's first water slide... as you can see, he loved it.

I did my journaling on tags. The who, what, where & when stamps are Technique Tuesday's "Marquee" Stamps.

I've loved these thickers since I got them but never could find the right project to use them on. But, I think they go really well with this layout!

Happy Tuesday to you!

It has been quite a month for me and people that I love.

There have been 4 deaths in my life in the 3 weeks, enough is enough already! I had to watch my boyfriend lose his Mom in July, which was probably one of the worst things I'll ever have to witness.

In the past 2 weeks, my Great Aunt, My Grandpa (on my Dad's side), and my cousin, who happens to be my Great Aunt's Son-In-Law have all left us.

My heart hurts for my boyfriend and his siblings and nieces and nephews. I was 8 years old when I lost my Grandpa on my Mom's side, infact yesterday, 8/8, makes 18 years since it happened. Although I was only 8, I remember more than I'd like about it.

My heart also hurts for my cousin, who not only lost her Mom, but her husband as well in 10 days. She has 2 daughters and my heart is just broken for both of them. My heart also hurts for my cousins brother and his family. They are all very close.

My Dad's Mom passed in 2008 and since then my Grandpa has been going downhill. I guess it just happens that way sometimes.

My point from all of that was, my heart is hurting for a lot of loved ones right now and they were all in mind when I made this card.

Any prayers or happy thoughts are much appreciated for any and all, thanks!

So now that I've bummed you out, how about a card? lol.

This card is for 2 challenges. When I made the August Card Challenge categories this month, I picked Sympathy only because when ever you need a Sympathy card, who wants to sit there and make it?

So, this is for theme in the Card Challenge on Scrapbook.com and for The Paper Variety's Week 45 Challenge - to go circle crazy, and that I did! It's about time I get it posted before the deadline. =]

The circle stamp and the heart stamps were separate G Studio's stamps from the $1 bin at Michael's... love those bins. =] The sentiment stamp is Small Talk from Technique Tuesday.

I also used my new Martha Stewart Ink that Joey bought me! I told him, I don't need shoes, I don't need purses, I just need pretty paper and embellishments!

So, I forgot a title... it happens to the best of us! My layout is already quite busy, so I can't really tell it's missing... maybe that's why I forgot to put it on? Yeah, we'll go with that!

The picture is of Joey & I in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, when we went on our cruise in April.

I really like how Joey's arm is cause it makes me look really skinny! lol.

On the last night of the cruise, we went down to get luggage tags, which tell you what time you can leave the ship the following morning. Well, I took 2 of each color to scrap with! Wouldn't you have done the same?? =]

Journaling: We missed our ATV tour because there was a confusion with ship time and local time. I was so bummed that we missed it because I knew how much Joey was looking forward to it. So, instead we walked around a flea market and shopped a bit. It was SO hot! It had to be at least 100 and it was so sticky and humid! After we got back on the ship, we went in the cold pool, which was too cold to go in any other day and it felt awesome!

My sisters 2nd little one was supposed to be born on Sunday... but decided she didn't want to wait! Kalleigh Ann arrived at 4:44pm on July 7th. She is TINY! 5lbs. 2oz. and 18 inches long.

A couple months ago, on the way home from Joey's house, I stopped at a Scrapbook store. Doesn't everyone do that? If you're going to a different city, don't you search the closest scrap stores around the city?? I know it's not just me!! It was a very expensive Scrap store and I paid an arm and a leg for this paper (no pun intended!) so I thought I better get to using it!

For this card I used The Sweet Stop's #115 sketch. I don't know if anyone has ever noticed, but I usually put "The Sweet Shop". I do that because we have a mattress place here in Southern California called "The Sleep Shop" lol. Totally on accident though.. it makes it worse that this is one of my favorite card sketch blogs!

Wasn't it just January like, yesterday?? This year has flown by, very quickly!

I've been working on an 8x8 album for Joey recently, so I don't have any cards to share right now, so I'm going to share photos instead!

On Wednesday I took Klayre to Disneyland for the first time by myself. We had a BLAST! We went on 16 rides and met and got 5 characters autographs.

Before Klayre was born (and we knew her name was going to be Klayre), we'd call my sisters belly, Klayre-A-Bellie. We call her Klayre-A-Bell also, so I told her to just stand there so I could take a picture and this is what she did, lol, perfection!

End of the year Teacher gifts!

I forgot to share the Teacher Gifts that I made for my niece's Pre-School teacher and aid. In a past life, that tall container was a Duraflame Match box. I have a basket of containers to alter at a later date, so I got it out of there. =] I cut fabric and used a old Starbucks Gift Card to put a thin coat of glue on it, then I wrapped the fabric around it.

The small container was a We R Memory Keepers container... I can't remember what came in it though!! I used 2 different fabrics to tie around the container.

My sister brought candy at a local candy store and I put them in cello envelopes.

The tags say "You rule Mrs. Caroline" and on the back I adhered Klayre's coloring that she did just for them.

I made these 2 condolence cards for 2 friends of the family, who are sisters. Their Mom, who was 96, passed last week. 96! Can you imagine the things she saw in her lifetime?

For this card, my Mom suggested something with baking. That's right... baking and a sympathy card, all wrapped into one!

About a month or so ago I found a blog called Sandy's Kitchen. Sandy blogs her weight loss journey on Medifast (the diet I'm on) and posts recipes of other peoples and her own. We've been making them like crazy. Of course we have our favorites!

Even if you're not on Medifast, you can make them... and I really recommend it, they are delicious!

A couple months ago my sister made a Menu board for their house, so I made one too! I made it so we can figure out a whole weeks menu instead of realizing we don't have an ingredient 10 minutes before we make dinner!

I used a frame that I've had since forever (I'm sure you could find a really cute one at Goodwill!). I used the Cherry Limeade cartridge for the Cricut for the letters and used their sticky vinyl. You cut the vinyl upside down so it sticks to the back of the glass so you can write on the front of it and not mess up the vinyl.

I backed it with Rusty Pickle's "Cooking" Paper, it goes with our kitchen real well!

I was planning on putting this on a clip so I could wear it in my hair, but it had other plans!

My new obsession is making flowers! I'm loving it. I went to Joann's the other day and bought about 8 different fabrics. Granted I only bought 1/4 of a yard, lol, but you don't need much! I got a bunch for 50% off of $9.99, and then a 1/4 of a yard, not too shabby!

Luci's Bridal Shower Card

I made this card for my Best Friend's Bridal Shower.

I free handed the dress form, which is a big deal cause I am horrible at drawing!

This is for The Pink Elephant Challenge #83, "Here comes the Bride".

I then collected a bunch of white/cream/purple ribbons and fibers to create the dress. I use a Zva's line of gems for the necklace, sanded around the edges of the background and rounded the corners.

This is for the June Card Challenge that I host on Scrapbook.com. It's for Technique, to make a Diamond Fold Card. Sooo simple with such a cool effect when you open it! I got the instructions from Splitcoaststampers,com.

This card is also for Claudia & Company's Challenge #83, to make a card with a fancy fold. Doesn't get much more fancy than this =]

This is the card when it's open. When fully open it measures about 4 3/4 x 13, including the scallops. You also have a lot of room to write you message in the blue, since it's all hidden when it's closed.

This cute little robot and the star paper (do you not just LOOOVVEEE that star paper??) is from My Little Shoebox's Robots Unplugged line and the paper is called Scraps of Metal. The robots entena were too thin to cut out, so I just cut them off and made my own with a button and some wire!

I added some Glossy and Crackle Accents on the Robot also.

A friend that I went to school with asked if I could make her cousin a Graduation card. I'm not the best at making boy cards to being with, but since she told me he was really into baseball, I got the "you hit it out of the park" idea! I knew I had some cute Dodger stuff too.

Happy Memorial Day! I am so thankful to live in America and am even more thankful for all of the men and women who have served and are still serving every where around the world. My heart goes out to them and their loved ones! Thanks for keeping us safe and protecting our freedom!

This picture was taken at one of Joey's friends Birthdays.. it's not at all what you'd think a perfect picture would be, but it sure is to me!

I cut a 1 1/2 in. x 10in. of my fabric and 1 3/4in. x 10 1/2 of the black mesh. I poked holes into my cardstock and wrapped wire around the fabric and twisted it on the other side to hold it together.

This picture... it's blurry, the color is off, Joey isn't smiling.

Yet, it's perfect!

This part was a boo boo. I was drawing my lines with my T ruler and my Signo white gel pen when my ruler slipped.... so I had 2 lines... so I thought, I'll just make it look like I meant to do it =] So, I continued it all around the page and I really like it!!

After I was done, I noticed that the "this picture" rub-on matched my boo boo! See, it was meant to be all along!

Remember the professional photo Joey & I got on the cruise? Well, I bought a cute frame from Kohl's and just added to it! I used Provo Craft's Adhesive Vinyl, which I "borrowed" from my sis {Thanks Tif!}

Can you see my stickles in the reflection of the glass? =]

I wanted to make a card with a banner on it but wanted it to be different.

I stamped on the tickets, cut them in 1/2 and wrapped them around bakers twine and a banner is born! I also wanted to say "on your new HOME" not house. No matter if it's a condo, apartment, house or something in between, it can still be a home!

I cut 2 clouds out of Magic Mesh.

I added a little chipboard house from My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup and added some fringed green cardstock for grass.

Off to Disneyland tomorrow, better get to bed!

I got the idea for some branches, so that's just what I did. I cut tiny strips of kraft cardstock and rearranged them how I wanted. Sure, it would have been easier with a branch die cut, lol, but I did not have one!! =]

For the leaves, I used Bo Bunny's Olivia Collection, the paper Honeydew. They were already leaves, I just scaled them down a bit.

This little birdie is from Fiskars. I embossed it in Zing {gotta love that stuff!} and added some Liquid Pearls on the swirls.

None of us NEED more scrapbook supplies, but thank goodness there's a difference between need and want =] Right now, Sarah Martina is having a Crafty Garage Sale on her blog. You MUST go check it out. Not only is there a bunch of good stuff, the prices couldn't be better and shipping is included in the price posted.. not too shabby!

I was cleaning out my patterned paper scraps and threw away all those 1in.x2in. papers that, let's face it, I'll never use! I found this kitchen utensil paper, I believe it's by Rusty Pickle.

I also made this card for my sister to give to one of her friends that made some desserts for her baby shower that her fellow teachers threw her.

I added a brad and some glossy accents on the big spoon for some texture. For the sentiment, I used American Craft's Rue Stamp Set.

I accidentally left out the "A" but I like where it ended up!

Some burlap ribbon and some staples to finish it off!

Happy Friday to you! No, not you, you! Yes, you! =]

Every Friday is happy for me because I get to go spend the weekend with Joey. YAY!

I was sketching this card out and it made me quite emotional. I thought what the heck is going on.. it's a card! Not even a card... it's a sketch of a card! But it does make sense, because Monday-Thursday, this is how I feel. On the bright side Friday-Sunday, I feel whole!

I printed this icon off of Google Images. I wanted to do 1/2 of each, but it just wasn't working for me.

I went into my button stash looking for a red button and accidentally dropped it into my "clear" section. I thought I was picking up the red one when this one appeared in my hand. And people say things don't happen for a reason... ha!

The Inside

Altered Project!!

I can count on one hand how many times I've altered projects. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy it!

I wasn't planning on making this... but I pretty much HAD to!

I got my face wash out of the garage where we keep our "extras" and I went to wash my face, squeezed some out and the top cracked open! So I did what any sane person would do... I put duct tape on it!

It worked all fine and dandy until the sides started to crack as well, lol.

Instead of wrapping the whole container in duct tape, {although, how cute would that have been?!}, I searched for an empty container. Of course this was the one and only time I couldn't find one!

This all happened while I was packing for the cruise, so I got my Body Butter out to take and I barely had any lotion in it. I knew my Mom had the same "flavor" that she never uses, so I borrowed hers. I scooped out all the lotion, washed it out with soap and water and filled it up with face wash!

This is a face we don't see often for my niece, this is the only crying picture I have of her since she was born.. and trust me, I take a LOT of pictures!

Journaling: When you came into this crazy world, we all stood frozen in the delivery room because you weren't crying. After they made sure everything was alright, you still didn't cry for 10 minutes! You never cried much as a baby either and this is the one and only picture I've taken of you crying in 3 1/2 years! When you were 2ish, you would make a screeching sound and lift both hands in the air like an Italian making a point! When you happen to take a little tumble, you might say "ouch" but then you get right back up and finish playing. At Gymnastics, you fell off a piece of foam and when I asked if you were alright you told me "more or less!" 5/2011

I shared this card when I finished it, but this was also one of Joey's Cruise Cards.

This is one of the professional pictures we got done on the cruise. This had to be the strangest posing that we did. We were standing up, against this backdrop, holding one hand and our other flat on the backdrop with people watching us do so! lol.. but I loooveee it. I don't like that it looks like I'm pregnant! But I was quite full and that fabric is very unforgiving! =]

This one is plain and simple! I used Fiskar's Friendship Garden for the flowers and the pot. It's a cute stamp set that has a ton of possibilities of building your own flowers, any which way your little heart desires!

This picture is super dark (and even more dark when printed) but I love it!

I am super proud of this one cause I thought of it with my own noodle. I used Heidi Swapp paint, which dries glossy as the melting Ice Cream.

How can you not giggle reading this? That's right, you can't! =]

A little on the blurry side, but what can ya do! This was our second night we got dressed fancy for dinner. We were in The Red Lion Pub listening to Kenny Giordano sing and play his guitar. I think this was one of our most favorite things on the ship! Also, this bar was one of the reasons I wanted to go on this ship... it was SO CUTE in the photos!

Joey's Cruise Cards & Photos - Day 1

About a month ago, I got the idea to make Joey a 3x3 card for every day on the cruise. I wanted the sayings on them to be cute, but funny. I thought of some myself and others I lifted.

So, for the next week I will be sharing a card a day, hope you enjoy them!

I saw a layout like this over a year ago, it was in a magazine. I hand stitched the heart rhythm and distressed the edges.

Here's a picture of us in Puerto Vallarta.. it was 92 and SUPER muggy! Ew, it was so gross, so hot and sticky and HOT. Did I mention it was hot?

I made this card for my boyfriend and mailed it on Wednesday so it would arrive on Friday. Today is a week until our first vacation together... a week long cruise! We booked it when there was 76 days left, so now having only 7 to go, I'm sooo excited!

I used Sweet Sunday Sketch #113 for this card. Love Karen's sketches!

I had the idea of sending him a "one week" card for a while now but had no idea how I wanted to do it. So I thought maybe I'll put 1 week... 7 days, then I got the idea to do this!

I made this card for my cousin Quinn for her 20th Birthday. Did I really just say 20th? She's the baby of all our cousins, so her being 20 makes me.....uh, older than 20! =]

I used Mojo Monday sketch #187 for this card. If you've followed me for a while, you know how much I love Mojo Monday sketches!

All the printed papers on this card are October Afternoon's Thrift Shop.. such a cute collection! I also used a notions flower from Studio Calico and A journaling tag from Elle's Studio's Vintage Mix & Match Numbers.

I used these teeny tiny K & Co. tags and embossed "wish" on the top one.

Happy Birthday to the best boyfriend ever. No, really, it's true! I have no idea how I got so lucky to find him, but I'm so glad I did! He's getting up there in years, so I'm going to change the font bigger so he can read it... =]

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOEY!!

It's blurry, the color is off, Joey's not smiling (again), it's perfect.

I made him a wallet out of a Captain America comic book, if you missed it, check it out, here. I also made a bag to match! I ripped up the rest of the comic book that I used on the wallet in random sizes and mod-podged it onto the bag. Except, I didn't have any mod-podge, so I used Alene's Clear Tacky Glue mixed with some water.. worked just the same! I added a talk bubble, like in comics, to say Happy Birthday. I also added a fortune from a fortune cookie that we got when we ate at Disneyland one of our many times of going.. and to think he makes fun of me everytime I put them in my backpack to take home!

The fortune says: A pleasent surprise is in store for you.

This is the card I made for him to stick with the whole comic book theme. I can't take credit for the idea though, his friend Jesus put the idea in my head.. and I'm so glad he did!!

I wanted to make the Superman Symbol, but with a J. I drew lines on the back of the yellow card stock and used an exacto knife to cut the top layer.

The randomness under the J Symbol is the writing that they use on Superman's planet, Krypton I believe it is. Kinda fun making it, just pressed random keys over and over!

I added some red and white bakers twine, a red button a little distress ink and some white gel pen around the edges to finish it off.

I had this cute little container in my stash and used it to put Hot Tamale Gum in it. That's right HOT TAMALE! annnddd it's sugar free! It loses flavor way to quick, but it's really good for about 2 minutes, lol. I wrapped twine around it to give it some more texture.

Don't you just love that quote? It made me crack up! The tag is from Elle's Studio's Vintage Mix & Match Numbers.

I lifted this card from an old Paper Crafts Magazine. Before I got my scraproom/bedroom organized how I wanted it, I used to cut out cards from scrap magazines that I wanted to lift and kept them in a folder.. this was one of them!

This was for a family friend's little one's first Birthday.

This may be my new favorite font! It's called Digs my Hart and is from fonts101.com. I recently deleted a BUNCH of fonts off my computer that I've never used and will never use, and replaced them which a bunch of cute ones! Most of the new fonts I recently downloaded were from a site called KevinandAmanda.com. They have a TON of cute fonts, and they're free! Can't get much better than that!! They also have links to other sites that contain super cute fonts as well. Make sure to check them out!

Joey's Comic Book Wallet

My boyfriend begged me (ok, not really begged... that part was just for Joey!) to make him a Comic Book Wallet. Of course I said it would be no problem!

If you'd like to try a Comic Book Wallet, or for that matter, any kind of DIY wallet, check out the instructions HERE.

You use Iron On Vinyl, which you can find at Joanns. I went in and asked and they said they never heard of it... I went home checked online and went back and found it! lol. I don't know about your Joanns, but for the people that work at ours, it's just a job. They know nothing about anything they carry, it's so frustrating!

So, like I said, you can use anything, paper, material, scrapbook paper, ANYTHING! My Dad asked for a camo one once he saw Joey's wallet.

I had my Mom help me just so I didn't completely screw it up! Irons and I don't mix well. So, we tried a couple practice pieces first and I'm sure glad we did!

First we started on a formica board, using the back, with a towl on top, no good. You could see the texture of the towel. And the iron that we used had the wholes in the bottom for steam, which you could also make out!

So, with another practice piece we used the cutting board with a towel over it and a different iron... still bad.

Next we tried a 15x11 metal first aide kit box and ANOTHER iron which had tiny holes in it! This worked pretty good but not perfectly.

So we were trying to think of what flat surface we could use that wouldn't get ruined by the heat of the iron.. so we used.... OUR FLAT TOP STOVE!!

The stove worked wonderfully! The vinyl didn't have any weird textures in it and looked soooo good. This is when I started getting super excited!

I folded it back up and I decided that I wanted more stitching than just the sides like the directions say.

I went to our Comic Shop and bought one of Joey's favorites.. Captain America. I'll have to go back and show the guy that worked there cause he was amazed by the idea of a comic book wallet!!

We started making it at 10... and ended at 1:30!

I haven't let it out of my sight all day... I just keep looking at it! I knew it was going to come out cute, but it is way beyond what I thought it would be! Joey better like it.. or else! =]

Happy Birthday Miss Luci!! Luci is only the greatest friend in the world. Everyone should have one!

I have a voicemail that Luci left me when I turned 19 telling me that she couldn't believe how old we were! Fast forward 7 years later, now we're really old! =]

Luci's Birthday is today, the 11th, so I used the Restoration line from Crate Paper. The calender paper worked out perfectly for the date!

I used the sketch #102 on The Sweet Stop Challenge Blog. As you can see, I can't stop with the zipper flowers! And there are even more to come! This card is for my cousin Anna, but her Birthday isn't until the 21st, so shhh, don't tell her about the card!!

I made this card for my cousin Gene's Birthday. I'm horrible at making cards for guys, could be cause I only have girly paper! So, when I saw this card is Peenut 23's "Wish Birthday Card". I lift a lot of her cards and layouts too! I love her style!!

I used Basic Grey's Orgins & Basic Manila Papers. I randomly cut them at different sizes and started to roll them. I hand stitched an "x" for the flame.

I finished off the card with some twine and a stamped tag with an eyelet and some stickles.

I used Sketch 113 at The Scrappiest for this layout. Such a cute sketch, right? I know!

This page is about Klayre's funny face she used to make. She doesn't really make it anymore. Don't get me wrong, she has plenty of other funny faces! If you tell her to "strike a pose", you get a dance move AND a funny face!!

I know I've said this before, but I adore handstiched circles! I don't know what it is about them, but they just look so pretty to me!

Did I measure the stickers to fit inbetween the 2 stitched circles? No, no, no! It was all luck!!

For this card, I first made the zipper flower first, then worked around it! For the flower, I cut about a 10 inch length of zipper. I then ran a stitch on the edge and cinched it, then coiled it up and sewed the layers together. Make sure to use the same color thread, or close to it, so you don't see it!

I made this card for City Crafter Challenge Blog #50, where you have to incorporate babies, buttons and bows.

I will be becoming an Auntie again in July, so I was all for it! They find out what they're having on the 28th, and my sister will where either a pink or blue shirt on the 29th. I made my card a baby girl card... wishful thinking!

I used this cute baby banner from Basic Grey. I cut out the triangles instead of using the whole stamp because I wanted to handstich the top part of the banner.

Klayre vs. Eclair

Journaling: Even before you were born, Papa would say "On her first Birthday, I'm going to buy her an eclair." So, that's just what he did. You're now almost 3 1/2 and you've never had Birthday cake for your own Birthday! You really went to town on that eclair! It was all over your face, your arms, up to your elbows, your bib, your highchair, your tray, up your nose and just about every where else!!

My Mom always makes fun of when I hand stitch =] Could be cause I could use my little sewing machine, but that would be way too easy! I love the look of hand stitching though!

When I was at my boyfriend's house one day, before he was even my boyfriend.. I saw these pins sitting on his record player. I was eyeing them, for sure! I said So.... "Whatcha gunna do with these?" lol and he said "Why, do you want to use them from scrapbooking?" Oh how well he knows me!!

This is one of those "I want to use certain products but have no clue what I want the card to look like" card. =]

I adore these top note die cuts. I have a cricut, but I don't know of a cartridge that has this shape on it, so I bought them on Etsy from Scrapbits.

Have you ever used Hambly rub-ons? They're my most favorite, ever. It doesn't have that flim around them like other rub-ons do. It also looks more like vinyl that a rub-on.

Even though my Dad thought these were cow pies, they're flowers =] Although, I can totally see it, lol. I made these flowers our of black streamers. I cut about 1ft. length and glued it and rolled it, length wise. Starting with the middle, I coiled it around itself until I made a circle, tucked the end under and added a 1/2 pearl in the middle!

Journaling: On Great Ga's 85th Birthday, you, Papa & Mommy had your own kind of party! It started with one empty water bottle.. then 2.. then there were about 25! Papa sat on the floor while you and Mommy sat on Ga's recliner and had your back to Papa, as a shield. Papa would throw water bottles over the recliner and you & Mommy would throw them back! You were all having such a great time. To think we spend so much time money on buying new exciting toys for you, when all you really needed is an empty water bottle. Or 25!

Every day, I wear a flower in my hair. I have a bunch of headbands with flowers connected to them and some loose flowers that you can attach yourself. I wanted to make a burlap lollipop flower for a headband but had to make sure it would look cute first!

I made this coupon book for my boyfriend for Valentines.

The album is a Key Plate Chipboard Album from Basic Grey.

I used "Coups" for 2 reason.. 1 being it's from a Dane Cook skit and my Sis and I say it all the time and 2, I couldn't fit "Coupons" on it. =]

I would love to say that I planned this coupon with this picutre of us on our first date, out to dinner in Pasadena. Yeah... I didn't. Noticed it after I was done! Some things are just meant to be! I know it was only about 6 weeks ago, but we both look so young in this picutre.. it's so weird.

I painted each side with Heidi Grace's paint.. the thing I love about her paint is it all drys glossy.

I stamped this page with paint and bubble wrap. I adore this photo of us.. not only is super cute of both of us, but I look really skinny, lol. I left this blank to write a little note in for him. I used one of my new goodies from Elle's Studio too! I placed clear/red heart epoxy stickers by Heidi Swapp on each date in January we had.

Since we live about an hour away from each other, I thought this would be a great coupon! I got the Basic Grey pearl flourishes from Big Lots.... for $.50!! Seriously? Seriously.

I stamped this one with bubble wrap and paint too, kind of looks like camo with the green and brown.

This picture was taken standing in line for Space Mountain.

At Disneyland California Adventure, I LOOOVVEEE Hollywood Tower of Terror. I thought everyone likes to drop a bunch of floors while in an elevator... no? Just me? I think it's super fun, but Joey does not.

It's all in the details

Years ago, like... maybe 5+ years ago, I saw this in the Uncommon Goods magazine. I decided to make it for Joey.. since, let's face it, I am totally nuts for him!

I went to a local hardware store to search for some nuts and bolts. I went in the isle and was looking around at about eye level.. then I looked down. I literally gasped out loud.. they have a whole isle of LOOSE nuts & bolts. I was like a kid in a candy store!!

Personally, I like mine a lot better than the one in the magazine! Not to mention, he has one that no one else has.. unlike the one in the magazine... who knows how many people have one!

I didn't realize this until my friend Renee told me, but she said the top looks like Mickey ears!

Cards for Kids

A couple months ago I participated in Jennifer McGuire's "Cards for Kids" card drive. If you haven't heard of it, make sure you go check out her blog and learn more about it. Basically she collects cards for ill children, most terminally ill. You can also send cards to their parents and siblings (which is what I'll be doing next round). I forgot to take a picture of the cards before I put them in the envelope, but I used the joke "why was 6 afraid of 7" on the front =]

If that isn't enough for you to want to make a card for these kids (which it totally is!), there's also prizes. Somehow I won one, lol. I wont $25 credit to Elle's Studio.

Do you know how long I've had Elle's Studio saved in my favorites? And on my Etsy? Since forever ago! So, I was extremely excited. Not only that, but I got to pick what I wanted, how great is that?! So this is what I picked!!

I have no words! These are SO cute!

I love lists like this, can't wait to use them!!

As cute as these look on the computer.. it's no comparision to how cute they are in person.

It's Party Time

I made this card for the February Card Challenge for the Lift category. This month we lifted Lweber1234's "Deepest Sympathy" Card.

Yes.. I put party hats on them!! How couldn't I with that sentiment?

This green ribbon started out about 3/4 inch long. I cut off both sides then frayed the edges.

I'm not sure why, but I really wanted to do stitching on this card, so I stamped first, then punched holes with a needle and then stitched with a light grey thread.

Ever feel like your heart is going to explode from happiness? Mine has a million times in the last month.. love it! This is a mini card, only 3x3!

I made the TNT with a G Studio Stamp, some letter beads and some bakers twine. That little button on the heart is itsy bitsy!

I received a Halloween kit a couple weeks ago from one of the challenges I won and these rub-ons were in it. They're Hambly Screen Print Rub-Ons. I love them! They don't leave that film around the edges like regular Rub-Ons and they leave a glossy finish to them, they look very much like vinyl.
